LA Weight Loss Centers
Diet Program Review
LA Weight Loss Centers are advertised on TV. They always have a
new "plan" so you are tempted to join. The plan varies slightly
depending on how much weight you need to lose and if you exercise
or not. The commercials state that you pay $6 - $7 a week for your
diet plan and that you eat your own food. This is true. Yes, you
do eat your own food, however, LA Weight Loss also sells
supplements that are supposed to improve your weight loss. The LA
Weight Loss diet program claims to offer weight loss of 1.5-2
pounds per week.
LA Weight Loss starts you on a high protein "Jump Start" program
with an orange and a few greens for three days. After three days,
they put you on a severely calorie restricted plan. You may add LA
Weight Loss Center supplements which may cost you about $27 a
week. Periodically, they strongly promote their juice "diet." This
is basically a juice fast which involves drinking LA Weight Loss
Center juice ($27 a bottle) and eating very little food for two or
three days.
Joining the LA Weight Loss Centers diet program for one year costs
$312 minimum. Diet supplements, juice, bars and other LA Weight
Loss products are extra.
LA Weight Loss Centers - Claims
- Weight loss of 1.5-2 pounds, per week.
- Individual support.
- Eat real foods.
- Low "weekly" cost of $6 - $7 per week.
LA Weight Loss Centers - Drawbacks
- At over $300 plus extras, this is quite an expensive diet program.
- In practice, some supplements are required.
- Counselors may not be qualified in nutrition.
- Constant focus on "weighing in" via the local LA Weight Loss Center.
- Hard-sell techniques are used.
LA Weight Loss Centers - Summary
Not recommended. The diet program looks expensive with an
over-emphasis on unnecessary diet extras.
